Cross Country begins its training this March in preparation for the Hope and Healing half marathon in May. The team has gained quite a few new Freshman athletes who have already established themselves in their sport.
Savannah Belcher comes to AC from Sanger, Texas. In High School, she broke the 6-minute barrier in the mile track race with her fastest being 5:53.
Joining her on the women’s cross-country team is Mia Regalado, coming in from El Paso, Texas. Regalado won a gold medal at the Todd Martin Ranger Relays in the 3,200-meter run with a 12:12. Regalado has also been named for the Fall 2024 Deans List.
Joining the Men’s Cross Country Team is Lane Kenney from Amarillo, Texas. During regionals, he placed 11th in the 5A region meet for the 3,200. Last semester, Kenney etched himself in AC history by finishing the 13.1 mile race in 1 hour 12 minutes and 21 seconds.
Joining in on the team is Noah Williams coming from Dumas, Texas. Williams was able to attain a three-time state qualifier in cross-country in class 4A. For more info go to acbadgers.com
