In January 2026, M&M’s released three new limited-edition flavors as part of their new bakery collection, including “Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll,” “Cherry Chocolate Cupcake,” and “Lemon Meringue Pie.” These new additions cost $1.69 each for a sharing-size bag at United and are set to be a part of the newly launched M&M’s Flavor Vote campaign, which is available nationwide and allows fans of the beloved candy to vote on which flavor they wish to see return to stores this fall.
Personally, I am a really big fan of M&M’s. For that reason, I am always willing to try new flavors, so when I first saw the “Cherry Chocolate Cupcake” flavor, I immediately bought them without hesitation.
When I first tried “Cherry Chocolate Cupcake,” I was instantly blown away. With cherry coating and both milk and dark chocolate on the inside, this flavor was just like biting into a cherry cupcake, only much more delightful. I especially appreciated the fact that the cherry flavor was not too overpowering, allowing the chocolate to stand on its own. I am convinced that if M&M cupcakes existed, this is what they would taste like. I am so happy that I decided to try them.
Similar to “Cherry Chocolate Cupcake,” the “Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll” flavor was truly enjoyable from the first bite to the last. These ones reminded me exactly of the original peanut butter M&M’s with a slight hint of cinnamon mixed in, which I was not one bit disappointed with. The blend of flavors was perfect, adding a sweet, yet refined texture.
After being impressed with two out of three new flavors, I figured there was bound to be at least one that I would not quite enjoy. This unfortunately proved to be true with “Lemon Meringue Pie.” This was one which I was already highly skeptical about since I have never been the biggest fan of lemon; however, I agreed to try it at least once and immediately regretted the decision. While white chocolate is one of the primary ingredients, I could not taste it at all because the lemon flavor was way too overpowering. I cannot believe that I spent my hard-earned money on this flavor only to be extremely let down by it.
After much debate and careful consideration, my favorite of this new lineup of M&M flavors is without a doubt “Cherry Chocolate Cupcake.” This one tops the list because, in my opinion, it presented the best mix of flavor and sweetness out of all three, which is why it officially has my vote to return to shelves in the fall. I would definitely both recommend and buy these flavors again, except for “Lemon Meringue Pie,” of course. Overall, I enjoyed my experience trying the newest M&M’s, and I look forward to seeing which one becomes the ultimate fan favorite.
