“Walker” is a remake of Chuck Norris’s “Walker Texas Ranger.” The series stars Jared Padalecki, Keegan Allen, Violet Brinson, Kale Culley and Ashley Reyes and has been in production since 2021. Set in Austin Texas, “Walker” follows the journey of Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two who returns home after being undercover for two years only to discover that there is much more work to be done.

Three seasons of “Walker” have aired so far, and on April 3, the highly anticipated first episode of season four was released, which is said to be the most dangerous season yet. Set five months after the events of the season three finale, the season four premier titled, “The Quiet.” It features a birthday celebration in
addition to tons of new Ranger action and suspense which I feel was 100 percent worth the wait.

When viewing this episode, the main thing that stuck out to me was the new character developments that are beginning to unfold this season. When new episodes of a show are about to be released you never know how different the characters are going to be, especially in a series as action-packed as “Walker.”

Throughout the premier, I enjoyed getting the chance to see each character portrayed in a whole new light as opposed to the first three seasons. It was fascinating to see how the five month time jump shaped each character individually and I cannot wait to see how they continue to grow this season. One that I have always been drawn to is definitely August. August is a truly compelling and relatable character, and if I had to choose a favorite character it would without a doubt be him. Kale Culley plays him so perfectly and I am hooked by how well he did portraying this new, more mature version of August in this captivating premier.

Jared Padalecki did a fantastic job as well of course, as he always does. I can’t possibly talk about this show without mentioning Jared’s incredible acting skills. One thing that Jared is really good at is intense scenes which makes him absolutely perfect for the role of Cordell Walker. When Jared plays a certain character he really knows how to tap into the character’s personality in the right way and I really admire that about him.

Another actor worth mentioning is Keegan Allen, who plays the role of Cordell’s brother, Liam Walker. It takes a lot to play a character as complex yet fascinating as Liam and Keegan definitely has it, which makes him one of my favorite actors. Having seen Keegan play the role of Toby Cavanaugh in “Pretty Little Liars,” which is a very different character than Liam Walker, I can say that he is very diverse in his acting skills. He and Jared definitely keep the show going and I believe that it would be completely lost without them in it.

Overall, I rate the first episode of “Walker” season four a 10 out of 10. The acting was phenomenal along with the storyline and I cannot wait to see what happens next. With how good the premier turned out to be, the bar is set high for the episodes to come.
