Success 360 is an interactive event Amarillo College hosts to assist students in making a seamless transition to AC and achieving success. The event is for high school students in the Amarillo region who are interested in enrolling at AC.

“Success 360 is a great way for high school seniors to get an overview of all of the programs we offer at Amarillo College. For high school students who are undecided on a major, this is an opportunity to talk to faculty, students and advisers,” Becky Burton, associate vice president of academic learning, said.

Success 360 will take place Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Amarillo Civic Center. The event is not only for high school students who are interested in attending AC, there is something planned for the parents to gather more information about the program. “On Thursday evening we will have a session from 6 to 8 p.m. for parents of students and adult students,” Al Guardino, senior transitional adviser, said.

The event will include career communities offering hands-on activities for students to participate in. “Faculty and current students are on-site in each booth to visit with students,” Burton said.

Students who attended Success 360 in the past said it helped them in the long run. “It will be great for students who have an interest in coming to AC or those who want more information, it helped me a lot when I needed more information,” Carolina Barba, an engineering major, said.

Last year Success 360 was canceled due to COVID-19. This year the event will follow COVID guidelines to ensure the safety of the attendees. “We were not able to do this event last year, so we are excited to be back in the Civic Center this year. We will keep students in small groups and distance them as much as possible,” Burton said.
