AC student Wendy Beltran killed in car wreck

On Saturday, Sept. 10, Amarillo College student Wendy Beltran, 19, died after being involved in a car wreck.

According to DPS, around 11:45 a.m. 36-year-old Juan Rodriguez of Amarillo attempted to legally pass Wendy Beltran, when she failed to signal her intention to turn left onto a private drive. Rodriguez was unable to avoid the collision.

Wendy was born on June 17, 1997 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Alfredo Beltran and Norma Munoz. She was a graduate of Dumas High School and was attending Amarillo College this fall. Wendy worked at Natural Prairie Dairy in Hartley, and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Wendy was preceded in death by her grandfather Gilberto Munoz.

Wendy is survived by her parents: Alfredo and Norma (Munoz) Beltran, of Dumas; brother: Alfredo Beltran Jr; boyfriend: Alan Ortega of Dumas; grandfather: Alfredo Beltran Sr. of Chihuahua, Mexico; grandmother: Maria Rodriguez of Chihuahua, Mexico; and grandmother: Gabina Franco of Chihuahua, Mexico.
