Amarillo Fire Department quickly contained a blaze this morning at Amarillo College’s West Campus.
According to AC Police Officer Carl Loya, the fire started in the room where motorcycles are stored for training in Building B. He said emergency response was called at 8:23 a.m. and the building was immediately evacuated.
All AC students were notified at about 8:45 a.m. via email, phone and text message through the AC Alert system. Another notification was sent out at about 9:10 a.m. to inform students the fire was out and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The extent of the damage is undetermined at this time, but there is smoke damage throughout the entire building.
