After raising funds in the fall and spring, Badger Hearts members hosted their annual Hope Chest Banquet Saturday at Amarillo College.
Ten foster youths received certificates of graduation sent by Gov. Rick Perry, and three AC students received Hope Chest checks from Texas Child Protective Services, said Lesley Ingham, a speech instructor and club adviser.

Amarillo College regents visited the new Manufacturing Education Center on the East Campus March 25 before getting down to business at the monthly regular meeting.

Dr. David Rausch Jr., the Teel Bivins professor of political science at West Texas A&M University, spoke on the significance of political cartoons in history on Jan. 30. Two more speakers are scheduled in the following weeks.
The connection between caricatures and oil paintings, like the painting “The Nightmare” by Henry Fuseli and the satirical cartoon, “The Covent Garden Nightmare” by Thomas Rowlandson, was discussed by Dr. Bradford Mudge at Amarillo College.
Three faculty members were recommended and approved for tenure at the semester’s first meeting of the Amarillo College board of regents Jan. 28.
