Each month, the Student Government Association hosts an event for Amarillo College students, faculty and staff.
At noon today, the SGA will host a poetry slam featuring the Asia Project. Free lunch will be provided. The event will be in the SGA lounge in the basement of the College Union Building on the Washington Street Campus.
Though they shouldn’t be, opinions are a tricky thing. Everyone has them, and everyone believes they should be allowed to have whatever opinions they want on whatever topic they choose.

While reading through the list, I noticed that a lot of the people on the list are not recent. I have figured, for a long while now, that Mixed Martial Arts has really taken over and out-shined boxing, but I never thought one of the greats would think the same as I do.

In 1967, the Amarillo College West Campus started out as a school for vocational arts.
Since then, many renovations have been made to the campus and other courses of study have been added, making the campus home to more than 18 programs.
This Valentine’s Day, it will have been two years since Linda Hendrick underwent surgery for cancer. Doctors told Hendrick that in less than two years, the cancer would be back unless she had chemotherapy.
The Amarillo Museum of Art will host an artafterdark event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 21 on the Washington Street Campus.
The musical band “Turbine Toolshed” will perform during the event, and food and drinks will be served for those who attend.
After the Hereford branch of Amarillo College opened its doors in August 2005, employees are welcoming students to a new facility: the Everett and Mabel McDougal Hinkson Memorial Campus.
