Blue Beetle movie bombs at box office

I have always been more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan, but there are a few
exceptions. I watched a show about Superman with my parents when I was younger and I also watched “Batman,” “Teen Titans,” “The Flash” and “Shazam.” For the most part, I enjoyed all of them, so when I saw the trailer for “Blue Beetle,” I thought I would enjoy it and went to go see it with my brothers.

I have several issues with this movie, but I did enjoy it. It’s hard to pinpoint if the
issues stem from the directing, the writing or the actors. The line delivery fell through many times and I had a hard time paying attention. There were a few good line deliveries where the jokes were funny, but then there would be times when the lines felt
awkward or out of place.

The action felt a bit
lacking at times. It would feel like something cool was about to happen, but then the battle would be over. Even the romance in the movie was poorly portrayed and felt forced or rushed. I feel like they could delve deeper into that portion of the story in the sequel.

I would even say that “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” had better line delivery and directing than “Blue Beetle” and that
movie wasn’t even that great either. The “Blue Beetle” movie wasn’t so bad that it was unwatchable, but for those who aren’t superhero fans that watch every superhero movie like myself, I do not
recommend this movie.

It doesn’t hurt to watch something not-so-good every once in a while and critique it so that in the future, the issues may be resolved, and we may get a better sequel. If you are a superhero fan who has yet to succumb to the fatigue of superhero movies, then this one might just be the one to set that off. It was still
something I enjoyed, but it’s not for everyone.
