‘Trigun Stampede’ The humanoid typhoon returns

“Trigun Stampede” is a reboot series taking the characters and story from the original “Trigun” and reworking it to appeal to a new audience.

I like what they did with the story. By making it more focused with less mystery, the story is easier to follow for newcomers. This not only makes it easier for people to get into the original series, but also gives fans of the series
something new to watch.

The story revolves around a young man by the name of Vash the Stampede, also known as the humanoid typhoon, as anywhere he goes destruction follows him.

Vash himself is a pacifist, and most of the destruction that happens around him is caused by bounty hunters after the 60 billion double-dollar bounty he has. This leads to him meeting his companions Meryl Stryfe and her fellow news reporter Roberto De Niro, a character who is exclusive to the reboot replacing Milly Thompson from the original.

I don’t want to watch a rehash of the original when I can just go and watch the original, but “Trigun Stampede” has its own charm. For a 90s show, it holds up well even with the new animations. Fans of the original series should go into this new series expecting it to be different and not fuss about
some well-made changes.

One new thing about the reboot is that it is in full 3D and is made by the same studio that worked on “Beastars.” The studio, Orange, has made a name for itself with its 3D animation as it has some of the best 3D style in anime. “Trigun Stampede” is now one of them, and the animation works well with its action themes and western gunslinger style.

Even the opening theme has an amazing animated sequence that fits the tone of the series, as well as a great accompanying song. The 3D models of the characters are  well designed and don’t stray too much from the original designs. The background scenes are done so well that it feels like you’re on a desert planet.

“Trigun Stampede” is currently airing during the winter season of 2023 and is available to watch on Crunchyroll. I highly recommend this series to fans of the original and anyone interested in space cowboys, western gunslingers and action-comedy with lots of drama.
This show is a bit too graphic for children and should be watched by viewers 13 years of age and older.
