Lynn Library has undergone numerous modifications over time.

Most notably are first floor renovations, which include replacement of the planning and advancement department with a new Career and Advising Center.

The second floor also has received an update; the library services previously located on that floor now lay on the fourth floor.

On the library’s fourth floor stand row after row of books for students’ use.

Old resources remain vital elements for students; every floor of the library is designed to help students succeed.

Although many may not be aware of its existence, the basement houses student peer tutoring services.

More additions to the library include study areas grouped around computer stations.

The ever-evolving library never seems to slow down.

“We do have plans to remodel the first floor in order to create a learning and study environment that is more functional and welcoming,” said Bob Austin, vice president of student affairs.

Walls, offices and location of existing program departments are subject to change.

Even with installing technology and complete rearrangement of the library, students are not left out of the equation.

Mikhaela Sample, a general studies major and president of the Student Government Association, said, “It’s a fantastic resource for the college and by no means subtracts from the library.”

Changes guarantee an up-to-date facility for a rapidly-growing source of information.

Keytan Callery, a biology major, said, “For our fys class, we used the computers on the first floor as a group.”

Designs that increase functionality are encouraged.

By simply making something that already is accessible more proficient in design, it increases the likelihood of its use by students.

Most library resources are free; the exception is printing large numbers of documents.

The library’s helpful staff stands ready to assist with any problem.

Lynn Library is more than meets the eye.

If a student needs to print a paper for class, find a good book, seek career advising or wants to see student art on some of its walls, a visit there can enrich his or her AC experience.
